About Communion

Our church community eats bread and drinks wine in the celebration of the Holy Communion on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month.

Who Can Have Communion?

All Christians baptised with water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are welcome to receive Communion.

How is Communion Received?

The bread and wine will be brought to people in their seats. People customarily stand to receive Communion.

Please note that wine is offered in one chalice in line with our policy of using a ‘common cup.’

What about Dietary Accomodations?

You may ask for a gluten-free wafer when it is your turn to receive communion.

You are also permitted to receive only the bread or wine. If, for example, you are not receiving wine, cross your arms in the shape of an ‘x’ whenever you are in front of the person with the wine.

In the case of not receiving wine, you may touch the base of the chalice in a moment of contemplation.

What If I Don’t Receive Communion?

Any who do not receive the bread and wine are invited to their cross their arms in the shape of an ‘x’ across their chest to indicate that they would prefer to receive a blessing instead.

Stay for Snacks!

Please stay after our worship for refreshments. Enjoy a hot drink and snacks — and get to know the people in our church community.
